IRIS has developed systems that mimic human breathing, and or test devices that are utilized for human breathing. One such system is used in the testing of sleep monitor devices. This device simulates human breathing. The system utilized a flow regulator for control, and pressure sensor as feedback. These in combination with a PID algorithm and a predefined breathing pattern, closed the control loop. The resulting pattern was highly repeatable and accurate.
