- Noninvasive Bilirubin Analyzer Device Test System
Many newborn infants develop jaundice, which is a condition where bilirubin levels build up and cause the skin and eyes to have a yellowish tint. This condition, while normal, can become dangerous if the levels of bilirubin increase to high levels. A medical device was developed to test the levels of bilirubin using spectral photonics. The company that produces these devices had an aging system for testing them. The software was developed in an antiquated version of LabVIEW, and was therefore archaic in design. To improve future development and maintenance of the software, the client had IRIS rewrite the software for testing the device. This included all aspects of the test including user interface, device communications, hardware integration, and historic golden part calibration of the test device itself.
